Salve helps you save links to social content and any web page through the Android or iOS share menu or inside the app. We process each save with artificial intelligence so you can search and ask questions about your archive later. You can also organize items into folders, add personal notes, chat with your archive, and share folders with other Salve users.

Account information. When you create an account we receive data from our authentication provider (Clerk), which may include your email address, name (if provided by Apple, Google, or you), and a stable user identifier. Sign-in options include Sign in with Apple, Google, and email.

Your content. URLs you save; titles, author handles, and thumbnails associated with those links; transcripts of audio; visual text derived from images or video; your notes; folders and folder memberships; held links waiting for processing; and chat messages you send to Salve about your archive.

Usage and device data. App events, screens visited, feature interactions, crash reports, and technical diagnostics used to run and improve Salve (via PostHog). We identify analytics events with your account id and may associate your email for product analytics. Session replay is disabled.

Purchases. Subscription status and purchase history are handled by the App Store or Google Play, depending on the platform, and RevenueCat. We do not receive your full payment card number.

Sharing. On iOS, a save token and related preferences may be stored in the Keychain and App Group so the share extension can save on your behalf. On Android, the share feature receives the link you choose to save and uses protected local storage for the session.

When you save a link, our backend (Convex) may fetch preview data and media through specialized providers (including Apify) in order to resolve the content. We use AI providers (including Google Gemini and OpenAI) to transcribe, describe, summarize, categorize, embed, and answer questions about your saves.

We do not re-host the original social video as a public library. Temporary media may be downloaded long enough to extract text or visuals and is then discarded. What we keep is primarily the URL, derived text, metadata, and any thumbnail we store for display in the app.

Your content may be processed by these providers solely to deliver Salve features. We instruct providers according to their commercial APIs; we do not sell your personal data.

If you share a folder, members you invite can see the items in that folder, including notes on those items. Invitation works via a link. You control generating and revoking the link and removing members. Leaving a shared folder may remove the items you added from that folder, according to product rules shown in the app.

You can connect Salve to an AI app you use — for example Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex or Cursor — so it can answer questions about your archive. Connecting is optional, it is off until you set it up, and it requires Salve Pro.

A connected app can only read: it searches and lists your saved items, reads the content of one item, and lists your folder names, always limited to your own account and the shared folders you joined. It cannot save, edit, delete or share anything.

Sign-in uses our authentication provider (Clerk). Your password is never sent to the AI app; it receives an access key bound to your account, which it sends with every request. The AI app is the data controller for whatever it stores from your conversation, under its own privacy policy.

Removing the connector inside the AI app stops the access immediately. To have the access key revoked as well, write to hello@umsalve.com.

The Salve extension for Chrome adds a Salve button to posts on X, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube. It is optional, and it works only on the sites you turn on in the extension. Your browser asks for your permission before the extension can open a site.

The extension reads a page only to find posts and place the button. It sends Salve two kinds of information. The first is post addresses (URLs): the address of a post you save or remove, and the addresses of the posts on your screen, so it can show which of them are already in your archive. The second is a short error report when the extension finds no post on a site you turned on: the site, the kind of page (feed or post), the number of post links on the page and the extension version. The report holds no address and no page content. It does not send the text of posts, your messages, your feed or your browsing history.

To sign in, the extension uses the session you already have on the Salve website, through our authentication provider (Clerk). It reads the Salve sign-in cookie for that purpose only, and it never sees your password. When you sign out on the website, the extension stops saving.

The extension keeps a few things on your browser: saves that are waiting to send, your recent saves, the last answer about which posts are saved, the sites you turned on and your language. Removing the extension deletes them. The extension has no ads. We record the error report with your account id in our product analytics tool (PostHog), and we use it only to repair the button when a site changes.

We use the information the extension sends only to save, remove and show your items. Its use follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell it or use it for advertising.

The Salve app uses PostHog for product analytics and error tracking. We do not use these data for cross-app advertising tracking or access the Android advertising ID.

The website at https://umsalve.com is a marketing site. It may use essential technical storage; it is not used to build advertising profiles.

Where Brazilian Law No. 13.709/2018 (LGPD) applies, we process personal data on bases that may include: performance of a contract (providing Salve); legitimate interests (security, analytics, product improvement, limited to what is necessary); compliance with legal obligations; and, where required, consent.

You may request confirmation of processing, access, correction, anonymization, blocking, deletion, portability, information about sharing, and revocation of consent, as applicable under LGPD, by emailing hello@umsalve.com.

We keep account and archive data while your account is active. If you delete an item or leave a shared folder, related data is removed according to product rules. Held links are kept so your content is not lost when you hit Free limits. After account deletion, we delete or anonymize personal data except where we must retain records for legal, security, or accounting reasons for a limited period.

You can edit notes, delete items, leave shared folders, and sign out in the app.

Open Profile in the app and tap Delete account to permanently delete your Salve account and the personal data we control. You can also request deletion at hello@umsalve.com. Steps and retention details are at https://umsalve.com/en/delete-account. Deleting the account does not cancel an active subscription; cancel it in the App Store or Google Play, depending on where you purchased it.

Authentication, analytics, and billing partners (including Clerk, PostHog, Apple, Google, and RevenueCat) may retain records as required by their systems and the law.

Salve is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact hello@umsalve.com and we will take appropriate steps.

We and our providers may process data in the United States and other countries (for example Clerk, Convex, PostHog, OpenAI, Google, Apify, Apple, RevenueCat). Those countries may have different data-protection rules than Brazil. We use providers we believe are appropriate for operating a global app and rely on contractual and organizational safeguards where applicable.

We use industry-standard measures such as encrypted transport (HTTPS/TLS), authenticated APIs, and restricted access to production systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Material changes may also be communicated in the app or on https://umsalve.com. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
